Sonic Frontiers is a 2022 open world platform game release on November 8 developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. It is the first Sonic the Hedgehog game to feature open-world gameplay; as Sonic, the player explores the Starfall Islands, which comprise various biomes. Development began after the release of Sonic Forces.
Separate teams once again embark on exciting adventures, where interesting missions await them, as well as the fight of Dr. Eggman and Metal Sonic. But later they learn that Metal Overlord has risen again, and this time with greater power.
