Set in Georgia during the Reconstruction era, a young boy named Johnny is sent to live at his grandmother’s plantation while his parents separate. Therein, Johnny befriends the kindly Uncle Remus, who regales him with stories of the elusive Br’er Rabbit and the many misadventures that befall him.
