Set in a dreamlike version of New York City, Somewhere, Maybe follows Theo, a reserved musical prodigy who spends his days composing melancholic sonatas in his small apartment, haunted by the absence of his estranged mother. When he meets Emily, a wildly unpredictable underground performance artist, his meticulously constructed life is thrown into beautiful disarray. Emily believes life is only worth living if it feels like a movie—so she makes every moment theatrical, leading Theo on an odyssey through underground art shows, abandoned subway stations, and silent rooftop dances under neon skies. But as Theo begins to break out of his shell, Emily's own self-destructive tendencies begin to surface, forcing them both to confront the fleeting nature of human connection. The Art of Existing: Is it enough to simply live, or must life be turned into a story to have meaning? Love as a Mirage: A romance that is real, yet always on the verge of disappearing. Time & Memory: Can you love someone if they refuse to be held in place? Theo finally writes a piece of music for Emily, only to find that she has disappeared—no phone, no address, no explanation. Months later, he spots a street performer in a mask dancing to the melody he wrote for her. Was it real? Was she ever truly his to hold?
