Five thousand years ago, Skylands entered its Years of Rebuilding following the fall of the Nightmare King Nefarion and his empire, and various adventurer's guilds have cropped up to help with restoration efforts and deal with the remnants of Nefarion's forces. One day, a group of youths from 1980s USA find a portal in their neighborhood and fall through, and find themselves in Skylands during these Years of Rebuilding—and more importantly, find they've been transformed into creatures form Skylands and granted magic powers!
