The year is 2025. About a decade or so ago, the Skylanders games were a phenomenon that captivated the hearts of young portal masters across the globe... But now, the games are little more than a faintly-remembered fad, and those young portal masters that saved Skylands all those years ago are now burnt-out and disillusioned young adults struggling to find their way in life. One such person is Wafi Rodriguez-Shakoor, a man struggling to find out the truth of his parents' mysterious disappearance while caring for his strained family. One day, a rift appears out of nowhere and pulls him to a faraway world: Skylands! He now learns that those games he played as a kid were far from just games, and he himself is a legitimate portal master responsible for sending several of the Skylanders back home!
