The Darkness is the living embodiment of all evil in the universe and then some, and for millennia, has vied to destroy Skylands under its grip. For years it was kept back in a constant power struggles with the many generations of Skylandian heroes, before the first Earth portal masters and their Skylanders banished it far, far away... However, the recent disturbances in the tempo-spatial continuum have allowed its influence to leak back in, and all those years spent dormant and sealed have given it all the time it needs to rest and recover...
