After being freed from the Darkness's control and becoming Mary's fated partner, Luminous has become an anxious, self-loathing shell of who he used to be due to having his light stolen and being turned into the very thing he fears. At first he refused to do anything other than sulk, but Mary showed him that even the things he feared aren't quite as scary when viewed through the right lens, and this encouraged him to pick himself up and help the Skylanders defeat the Darkness for good.
