From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Dervla Kirwan (born 24 October 1971) is an Irish actress famous for roles in British television shows such as Ballykissangel and Goodnight Sweetheart. She also appeared in the Doctor Who Christmas special episode, "The Next Doctor" and provided the voiceovers for the well-known "this is not just food" television advertising campaign for UK retailer Marks & Spencer. Kirwan was born in Churchtown, Dublin, Ireland. Her father was an insurance broker, and her mother was a language teacher. She is the youngest of three daughters. Dervla is a great grand-daughter of Margaret Collins-O'Driscoll who was a sister of Michael Collins, one of the Irish leaders during the War of Independence. Fancasted Main and Side Characters. Synopsis; (12 episode series, 2 episodes 75 mins, and all of the rest are 50-65 mins. First April 2nd then April 6th, then one every 7 days. Depending on whats wanted by the Studio and Landy, there are two casting options. To have Steph/Val as a 13 year old girl or to age her up a bit but not change anything else. The only casting changes would be Steph and the cousins. Parent actors can play any age within 5 years of their actual age, use make-up work. Only criteria for decision is that if it’s the younger option, filming would need to be soon as they are all 13-14 currently. They can’t play too young of a character beyond a certain point. As for older casting, they are 19 now which works, they could play a 16-17 year old well with minor additions for visuals and sound possibly required. The cousins can be fine as 20-21 year olds and still function as the same style of characters, but slightly different to younger casting or the books. ( I don’t know how this development stuff works so I doubt it would happen any time soon. I expect if a studio and Landy were interested to begin development it would start in 2024-25.)
