In the HBO remake of "Signal," Lieutenant Sofia Hampton (Daisy Edgar-Jones) is a brilliant criminal profiler haunted by the trauma of witnessing two crimes in her childhood. She lost her classmate to murder and her older brother to an unsolved case. Additionally, she suffered the loss of her husband Jonathan to a psychopathic killer, causing her to have a miscarriage and be unable to conceive since. Despite her struggles, Sofia is an indispensable member of the London Metropolitan Police Force's Cold Case Squad. She is also the only one who can communicate with Aaron Evans (Daniel Craig), a detective from 2005 with whom she shares a mysterious connection. Melissa Barrera plays Joanna Alves, an American Cold Case Squad leader and former protege of Aaron. As Sofia and Joanna work on solving cold cases, they begin to unravel a larger conspiracy that links their past and present cases. The communication between Sofia and Aaron helps them piece together the puzzle and get closer to the truth.
