When he finally arrived in Luckey Valley, California, everyone looked at him like he was a stranger. He walked into a saloon where he could hopefully meet someone to help him find a position in law enforcement. The bartender told him to either drink or leave, then the town's Sheriff Lasseter said to put it on his tab. After a conversation Woody had with Lasseter, he asked a local where to find a place to stay. Stinky Pete came and offered an extra hut he had just half a mile out of town, and Woody was grateful.
