Bobo, Rory, and Danny decide to team up with Zatanna, Ravager, and Kid Devil. The group arrives in Gemworld, where they meet Amethyst, a princess who seeks to reclaim her throne from Dark Opal by forming an alliance with eleven of the twelve Gemworld families. The situation becomes more complicated with the intervention of a third factor, Acheron, a ghost claiming to be the owner of the Bar. The team manages to unite the eleven houses and help Amethyst regain her throne. The truth about Gemworld is revealed: Citrina made a pact with the Lords of Chaos to transform Gemworld into a refuge for homo magi fleeing Earth. Opal takes advantage of his alliance with Argus to free Enchantress from June's body. Shadowpact, Amethyst and SS Black, come together to defeat Enchantress and thwart Opal's plans. A final confrontation between Dr. Mist, Rick Flag, and Tom Tresser results in Mist's death, while Flag is forced to kill Tresser. Flag releases June and promises Bobo that Argus's actions against homo magi will come to an end. Amethyst takes in June to Gemworld, where Amethyst's powers are amplified following Citrina's death.
