Search Party follows four self-absorbed friends in Brooklyn whose lives are upended when they become obsessed with the disappearance of a former college acquaintance, Chantal Witherbottom. What begins as a well-intentioned attempt to help quickly turns into a misguided quest for meaning, driven largely by Dory Sief, whose need to feel important pulls the group deeper into lies, paranoia, and moral compromise. As the search spirals out of control, each season shifts genres—moving from mystery to thriller, courtroom drama, and surreal horror—while exposing how the characters repeatedly evade responsibility for their actions. The series is a darkly comic satire about narcissism, guilt, and consequence, showing how small bad decisions can snowball into catastrophic outcomes when people refuse to truly grow.
