A masked killer known as Ghostface stalks the small town of Woodsboro, targeting teenagers with an encyclopedic knowledge of horror film rules. Sidney Prescott, a high school student haunted by her mother's mysterious death, becomes the killer's primary obsession as bodies pile up around her. Joined by her best friend Tatum, film geek Randy, and local reporter Gale Weathers, Sidney must survive the night while uncovering the killer's identity and motive.
