Mathala told Spider-Man, Ka-Zar, Shanna, and Tonga the tale of the legendary Chtylok.[1] After the emergency was over, Mathal reiterated a prophecy that Chtylok would save them, which the monstrous chicken had inadvertently done with a deep crevasse it had formed while fighting the Hulk, but Ka-Zar translated him as having thanked Spider-Man for protecting the Savage Land from being inundated.[2]
