Tom Ellis is a Welsh actor. He became known for playing Dr. Oliver Cousins in the BBC soap opera "EastEnders" and Gary Preston in the BBC One sitcom Miranda (2009–2015), then achieved wider recognition for his role as Lucifer Morningstar in the Fox/Netflix urban fantasy series Lucifer (2016–2021) and the Arrowverse franchise crossover "Crisis on Infinite Earths" (2019). Other notable roles include Justyn in Channel 4's "No Angels" and Thomas Milligan in the series three finale of the British science-fiction television programme "Doctor Who".
Sandman follows the return of Dream, the personification of hopes and dreams, to his domain after being trapped and held prisoner for 75 years and his quest to regain the powers he once possessed. It also follows his family, known as the Endless.
