Long ago, in a distant land, the shapeshifting demon Aku rampaged across the kingdom until he was confronted by a prince with a magic sword, the only weapon capable of harming him. However, before the prince could deliver the final blow, Aku sent him thousands of years into the future, to the present day. There, the kingdom has become the Savage Land, a ruthless realm separated from the rest of the world, where Aku reigns supreme.
