Valeriy Kukhareshin was born on December 7, 1957, in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), Russia.
He is a distinguished Soviet and Russian stage, film, and dubbing actor who was honored as a People's Artist of Russia in 2005. A graduate of LGITMiK (class of Arkady Katzman and Lev Dodin), he has been a core member of the Fontanka Youth Theatre since 1980. While he is a prolific screen actor with hundreds of credits—including roles in The Master and Margarita (2024) and Bury Me Behind the Baseboard (2008)—he is legendary in Russia for his voice work. He has been the official Russian voice for actors such as Bruce Willis, Colin Farrell, and Dustin Hoffman, and is famously the voice of Scrooge McDuck and Dr. Gregory House (for the LostFilm dub).
