First appeared in The Authority #1 in 1999 and was created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch. Angela "Angie" Spica became the second Engineer after the first was killed and his nanotechnology entered her computer and linked it to her work on human-machine fusion. She subsequently replaced her blood with metallic liquid filled with nanobots, giving her powers, including morphing her body and flight. She later joined The Authority.
