Paris, 1845. Mysterious murders plague the Rue Morgue, the victims found mangled in locked rooms. Dupin investigates, suspecting a deranged scientist who experiments with reincarnating human souls into animals to prove the continuity of sin. But as Dupin delves deeper, he begins to lose his grip on reality, dream sequences and color-tinted hallucinations reveal that he might share a psychic link with the killer.
