One year after the events of the Mass Awakening caused by King Ghidorah, Rodan returns to an old home in Fiji to slumber. Meanwhile, a hostile species of living fossil Insects, the Meganulons, begin infesting parts of the world. Monarch must rely on a reluctant Rodan to stop a potential worldwide infestation, as his species is the natural predator to Megaguirus' species.
