FBI Agent Charles Smith has been sent by the New York City Police Department back to Riverdale to investigate a series of terrorism directed by drug lord Hiram Lodge, “Griffons & Gargoyles” game mastermind Penelope Blossom, the Farm’s new leader Evelyn Evernever, Stonewall Prep student Bret Weston Wallis, and ex-high school principal Holden Honey. Once he arrives, he suddenly finds Riverdale turned into a post-apocalyptic world, thus divided into two factions: “P.A.G.A.N. (People Against Goodness and Normalcy)”, a cult of imperial neo-pagans led by Hiram Lodge (a.k.a. “The Gargoyle King”) whose mascot is a gargoyle; and the “Disciples”, a legion of rebels with a campaign of liberating Riverdale whose mascot is a griffon. P.A.G.A.N. constantly harasses the Disciples and legally performs a series of ritual sacrifices on anyone who stood against them by crucifixion while forcing Riverdale’s residents into building massive monuments for the Gargoyle King as tribute. As he investigates further (while learning how the Disciples’ war against P.A.G.A.N. began with), Charles must now join the Disciples’ campaign by reuniting Archie and his gang, for he is suspicious over the fact why Riverdale was so heavily guarded by P.A.G.A.N.’s forces. Now, get ready for the final battle for Riverdale in its final season!
