April O'Neil is a resourceful and brave journalist who helps the Turtles. She is a student at the same school as them and initially struggles with her anxiety and social interactions, but she learns to overcome these challenges. She becomes an ally to the Turtles, assisting them in their adventures and even using her news skills to broadcast the truth about the mutants, ultimately helping them achieve acceptance in New York City.
