A photojournalist, L.B. "Jeff" Jefferies, is stuck in his apartment with a broken leg and passes the time watching his neighbors. He becomes convinced that one of them, Lars Thorwald, has murdered his wife.
After a drifter answers a mysterious pay phone. He finds himself being watched and targeted by a sniper, forcing him to confront the hardships in his life… This ultimately devolves into chaos, with tons of blood shed.
