Born on the lifeless moon of Oa centuries ago after the experiments of Krona to view the makings of the universe caused an imbalance to make the positive and anti-matter universes, Mar Novu would spent his early life in silent meditation learning the secrets of the universe. However, sensing the presence of his twin, Mobius, and knowing he wished him dead, the two engaged in a war that lasted a million years, ending in a draw. Though he died during the first Crisis, Mar Novu has risen once more as the Monitor, and watches in wait for Mobius, the Anti-Monitor, to make his move.
