In 1927, it’s revealed that the original mummy did not die and he’s eventually found by an escaped convict currently running away from the authorities. The Scroll of Life is found with the mummy as well, and the convict uses the mummy to get rid of the police following him, as well as the people who betrayed him and got him in prison. When John Banning finds out about this, he has to stop him before he kills anyone else.
