Frank Castle has moved into a low-rent Manhattan apartment building, trying to reconnect with the people he protects. But Ma Gnucci still rules her crime empire, and Frank's war against her has made him a target. When Ma calls in the Russian—a super-soldier who can't be killed—Frank is forced to fight the battle of his life. Meanwhile, Detective Soap and Lt. von Richthofen hunt him, a trio of vigilantes want to recruit him, and his neighbors—Joan, Dave, and Bumpo—remind him there's more to life than punishment.
