Virginia Gayle Madsen (born September 11, 1961) is an American actress and film producer. She made her film debut in Class (1983), which was filmed in her native Chicago. After she moved to Los Angeles, director David Lynch cast her as Princess Irulan in the science fiction film Dune (1984). Madsen then starred in a series of successful teen movies, including Electric Dreams (1984), Modern Girls (1986), and Fire with Fire (1986). Madsen received further recognition for her starring role as Helen Lyle in the horror film Candyman (1992). For her performance in Alexander Payne's comedy-drama Sideways (2004), Madsen was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. On television, Madsen has appeared in the comedy-drama series Moonlighting (1989), the comedy series Frasier (1998), the period drama series American Dreams (2002–2003), the murder mystery series Monk (2002–2009), the science fiction series The Event (2011), the supernatural drama series Witches of East End (2013–2014), the political thriller series Designated Survivor (2016–2017), and the DC Universe superhero horror series Swamp Thing (2019). Three decades after finding their way back to Barovia after The Prince of Darkness and his spawn mysteriously vanished, however not before Caltherios and the gang had to fight Vera Monkshood (Virginia Madsen) who turned out to be secretly an ally to not only the sinister vampire lord, Strahd Von Zarovich, but also the calculative and manic scientist, Dr. Silver (Robert Englund). The gang fled once they were outnumbered, but not before Vera was injured. However, the stakes get even higher as Cassandra (Molly Ringwald) and her bloodlust rises as the werewolf infection grows, but a spark of good luck came in as Renfried (Anthony Michael Hall) met an alchemist wizard that was nearby in the form of Viktor Ravensthorpe (Harold Ramis), who used to be a colleague with Silver before he slipped into madness but things have gone much darker as the sinister Strahd Von Zarovich found Vera, then killed her instantly with a snap of her neck. Later that night, Strahd manipulated Xandroth into thinking that Caltherios killed her, driving him into a cold, murderous rage as the werewolf was now hellbent on getting his revenge on Caltherios and his cohorts while Dr. Silver had other plans for Vera, making her into one of his horrific creations while Strahd and Xandroth were hunting them down, currently the gang were hiding in an opera house. Unfortunately, the inhabitants were an extension of Xandroth's family of werewolves. Will they escape alive, or die trying?..
