Max is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Dick) of Illumination's 17th full-length animated feature film Minions & Monsters, the seventh installment of the Despicable Me franchise. He is a film director who hired the Minions to act in his films during the 1920's, one of which being a monster movie that involves real monsters.
