follows Will and Princess Evanlyn (disguised) as they are enslaved by Skandian raiders in the frozen north. Meanwhile, Ranger Halt is banished for attempting a rescue, traveling with warrior-in-training Horace to save them, facing battles in Gallica and follows Will and Princess Cassandra (Evanlyn) as they face a new threat in Skandia. After Evanlyn is kidnapped by invading Temujai warriors, Will, Halt, and Horace must unite with their former Skandian captors to fight off a massive, skilled nomadic army threatening the region.
