Angkar: Dawn of the Khmer is a conceptual open-world survival RPG merging Far Cry Primal’s savage prehistoric taming/combat with Kingdom Come: Deliverance II’s hardcore realism. Set in Southeast Asia, players navigate the transition from Stone Age survival (hunting megafauna) to building early Khmer civilization in a dense jungle landscape. Which has set from Prehistoric to Neolithic Cambodia featuring vast, untamed jungles, monsoon mechanics, and early Mekong River settlements with realistic hunger, thirst, energy, and injury systems. Players must maintain gear and manage infections in a harsh, humid climate. Tame and command prehistoric animals like tigers and elephants to aid in combat and exploration. Transition from a nomad to a leader, constructing early fortified settlements and managing resources, which prioritises period-authentic detail in every aspect, from the complex "smile of Angkor" statuary to the realistic physics of spear and sword combat with deep immersion in animism and early Buddhist traditions. Survival is a constant threat. Players can tame and ride indigenous wildlife—such as Asiatic elephants for war or tigers for stealth—to gain the upper hand against rival tribes or invading armies. Players perform rituals like the Baci ceremony to gain "favour" from the spirits of the land.
