Scylax is the warrior king of Mycenae, the most powerful of the Achaean (early Greek) city-states. His ultimate ambition is to "unite" the entire known world under his bronze thumb, and he starts his campaign by attacking the Kemetian colony of Per-Pehu, which he sees as a "dark stain" on the Achaean lands. He also desires the Kemetian priestess Itaweret as a trophy of his conquest.
