Growing up in the small Achaean village of Taurocephalus, over the hills from Per-Pehu, Philos never saw himself as anything more than a humble shepherd's son. After discovering the truth behind his heritage and then experiencing a cruel twist of fate, Philos takes it upon himself to aid Itaweret and Bek on their mission, bringing along his tame lion Xiphos. Oh, and he also has a soft spot for the Kemetian priestess, though he isn't sure whether she will reciprocate his feelings.
