Dan Trachtenberg (born May 11, 1981) is an American filmmaker and podcast host. He is best known for directing the films 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) and Prey (2022), the former earning him a Directors Guild of America Award nomination for Outstanding Directing – First-Time Feature Film. For television, he directed the pilot episodes of The Boys (2019) and The Lost Symbol (2021), the latter of which he also served as an executive producer. Trachtenberg was one of three hosts of The Totally Rad Show podcast and a former co-host of the Geekdrome podcast. He also directed episodes for the Ctrl+Alt+Chicken podcast, all hosted at Revision3. He directed the 2011 short film Portal: No Escape, an episode of Black Mirror entitled "Playtest," and various television commercials and public service announcements. 1944. In the dense, shadowy forests of the Ardennes, as Allied forces push through German territory, a highly skilled and cloaked Predator begins its ruthless assault on Nazi units. After an entire SS platoon mysteriously disappears, a chilling rumor spreads through German ranks of an “unholy beast.” As Allied and Nazi forces clash, American OSS agent Captain Luke Rourke, a hardened former detective, is captured by Nazi forces and imprisoned with a ragtag band of Allied soldiers and political dissidents in an isolated German castle turned POW camp. The Predator begins its hunt within the camp’s surroundings, preying on Nazi guards, picking them off one by one. Unnerved, the Nazis mistakenly assume an Allied attack is imminent, heightening tensions within the camp. Rourke and his fellow prisoners see an opportunity to escape amidst the chaos but soon realize that they, too, are being hunted by this unseen killer. As night falls, the Predator’s brutal methods force Rourke and his motley crew to forge an unlikely alliance with their Nazi captors. With their small band now reduced to survival instincts, the lines between allies and enemies blur as they’re forced to use every trick they know to evade and outsmart the Predator.
