The Last Ninja belongs to Ashina Uzumaki, the ancient patriarch of the Uzumaki clan. 444 years ago, he achieved the ultimate feat of sealing away Gengetsu Kibaoni and his entire army using the 48 Sealing Shurikens. In the modern era, his legacy becomes the driving force for the new generation of Ninja. To Boruto and the rest of the Leaf Village youth, the Last Ninja is a figure of mythic proportions. He wasn't just a powerful shinobi; he was the master of an entirely separate, absolute level of Fuinjutsu (Sealing Arts) that modern ninja can barely comprehend. Before disappearing into history, Ashina left behind a prophecy stating that when the Kibaoni army inevitably fractures their prison, a new generation of "Hot-Blooded Shinobi" will rise to inherit his mantle. The Ultimate Goal: The title of "Last Ninja" is not just a historical honor—it is an active rank. Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, Inojin, and Chocho are all technically competing and training to see who will truly inherit Ashina's ultimate legacy by successfully gathering and purifying all 48 scattered Shurikens.
