Having survived the brutal attack of Sabor the hungry leopard and killed his parents, an orphaned English infant shipwrecked off the coast of Africa is rescued and adopted by the compassionate, childless gorilla, Kala (Sandra Bullock). As she takes the baby back to the safety of her mountain hideaway, inhabited by a close-knit community of gorillas lead by the alpha gorilla Kerchak (Liam Neeson), after she adopts the baby names her new child Tarzan becomes an intelligent member of the simian family and is allowed to stay with them under Kerchak's conditions, years later Tarzan (Sebastian Stan) then becomes close to his adoptive cousin Terk (Kate Mckinnon) the rowdy and fun-loving gorilla and Tantor (Craig Robinson) the extremely cowardly elephant as they both help him to rule the jungle. Then one day he meets the beautiful and independent Jane Porter (Daisy Ridley), her bumbling father Professor Porter (Mark Rylance), and Clayton (Josh Brolin), a sneaky but scheming tour guide and a greedy hunter who wants to find the gorillas for his own secret sinister plan agenda to use the trip as a way to hunt gorillas in order to sell them in the black market. Tarzan then must rely on his wits and courage and bravery in order to save his gorilla family from Clayton's plot and to be prove he's worthy of living in both the human and animal life.
