As a young boy Togo lost both of his parents, and he was subsequently adopted by his father's best friend Daigo Shindo. Daigo's son Kiyohiro is the same age as Togo and they quickly became best friends, but over the years Kiyohiro started harboring a feeling of jealousy towards Togo. During his last year in hghschool Togo was caught up in a Zetsuender scheme led by Kizutsuke Mouse, and he had all of his friends turn against him including Kiyohiro. During the chaos Togo overheard the monster monologuing and immediately rushed in to attack said monster. His action resulted in Professor Pethagoras to choose him to be Kizuna Red, the last core team member of Bansou Sentai Kizuna Five.
