I imagine the special edition version would end in the same vein of the ending of The Lion King 1 1/2 where Delia, Professor Oak, Ash's companions, Team Rocket, Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy, and many other anime characters (from Doraemon, Detective Conan, One Piece, Shin-Chan, Dragon Ball, Evangelion, Pretty Cure, Yokai Watch, Naruto, etc.) join Ash and Pikachu to rewatch the film.
