One of the initial playable characters in the story. Riolu is a young orphan who lives in a small forest village with their sister Pichu, whose egg was left with theirs at the orphanage's doorstep, as well as the many other orphans who live there. When the adults go missing, they take it upon themself to find out how and why this happened, and because of their wise beyond their years demeanor, are named the group's leader if chosen as the hero.
