One of the three Pokemon you start with in both games. Phanpy is a chipper and enthusiastic archaeologist who is brought on to locate an archaeology site believed to hold the key to stopping an oncoming disaster—but when his team goes to investigate the site that they believe has their answers, they're all stranded in the distant parts of time instead! His cheerful and optimistic attitude makes him the glue that holds the group together throughout the journey. (Note: the player can choose the gender for each of the three starter mons, with each gender having its own voice option).
