The ruler of the Platinum Kingdom and the father of Piplup and Shinx. He's a king who is rather soft with his subjects. He worked for Charizard and the two are good friends. He raised Piplup to be fair and didn't want them to be spoiled. He would later adopt Shinx due to him losing his family during the Ultra Beast invasion.
