Annabeth Chase appeared on her father's doorstep in a golden cradle. Her father, reluctantly, took her into his care. He married another woman and together they had two sons. Due to being a demi-god, Annabeth was a target for monsters, which caused constant fighting between her and her parents, who felt she was putting everyone in danger. Annabeth ran away at the age of seven. She fought monsters with only the guidance of Athena and a hammer for a few months, until eventually she met Thalia Grace and Luke Castellan. Together, they traveled to camp Half-Blood. Near the border, Thalia was killed by a cyclops, and turned into a tree/magical barrier to protect the camp.
