he is Fantozzi's work colleague and, in fact, also his best friend. Both are forced to suffer harassment from their superiors and careerist colleagues and to take part in the bizarre initiatives of the company for which they work. Compared to his colleague, however, Filini appears decidedly more optimistic, cheerful and enterprising, to the point that he is often the one who starts the "tragic" initiatives in which Fantozzi finds himself forced to participate against his will.
