Walt only wanted a bright future for Oswald, but due to Charles Mintz refusing Walt's deal, Disney lost Oswald and the future he wanted for Oswald went to Mickey. Walt regretted giving Oswald up, and it was heavy on his heart all the way to the day he died. He would be proud that his company brought him back.
