Ryan Rodney Reynolds (born October 23, 1976) is a Canadian and American actor, entrepreneur and film producer. Known for starring in comedicand superhero films, he was the world's second-highest-paid actor in 2020 and 2024. Reynolds has received numerous accolades, including two Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as nominations for two Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. His films as a leading actor have grossed $6.6 billion worldwide. Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Reynolds began acting at the age of thirteen, taking on small roles in various television series. He had his first lead role in the teen soap opera Hillside (1991–1993), then played the lead role in the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl (1998–2001). Reynolds later starred in a range of films, including the commercially successful romantic comedies National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002), Waiting... (2005), and The Proposal (2009), the critically unsuccessful superhero films Blade: Trinity (2004), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), and Green Lantern (2011), and the biographical drama Woman in Gold (2015). Reynolds achieved his greatest commercial success as the titular character in the Deadpool franchise, starring in Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018), and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). He has since appeared in the sci-fi horror Life (2017), and action films like 6 Underground (2019), Free Guy (2021), and The Adam Project (2022). Reynolds has also lent his voice to animated films, including The Croods franchise (2013–2020), Turbo (2013), and the animated character Pikachu in Detective Pikachu (2019). In 2017, Time included Reynolds in its list of the 100 most influential people in the world. He was named People's Sexiest Man Alive in 2010 and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017. A businessman, he holds an ownership stake in Mint Mobile and is a co-owner of Welsh soccer club Wrexham; the latter is documented in the Emmy Award-winning television series Welcome to Wrexham (2022–present). The film will focus on two best friends who won The Price Is Right and used their prize money to buy a Winnebago to follow the band across the country on their last national tour in 2001. Based on an idea by Bass, the project was pitched as a cross between Girls Trip and Pitch Perfect. Bass first teased the film to Variety in February 2019, saying the movie is “a really fun story about these girls that win a Winnebago on The Price Is Right and follow us on tour – which randomly happened.” The women’s trek across the country was showcased on Carson Daly’s special about the tour where Bass surprised them by saying *NSYNC would pay for the taxes they owed on the Winnebago. GETTY Bass told the publication music would be a big part of the film, although it’s unclear if *NSYNC’s catalog will be included. In 2001, *NSYNC released their third album, Celebrity, with three singles “Pop,” “Gone” and “Girlfriend” climbing the music charts. To promote the album, Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez and Bass embarked on a four-month stadium tour PopOdyssey Tour which earned over $90 million and becoming one of the biggest tours of 2001. The following year, the band went on the Celebrity Tour which earned nearly $30 million. After the tour, the group went on a hiatus that has lasted 18 years. The group had a brief reunion in 2013 at the MTV Video Music Awards the night Timberlake accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
