Jerald Bones was Marty's father figure when his best friend (Marty's dad) passed in a plane crash, and was defending Marty against the NASA officials who thought he wasn't capable of doing the mission. Bones had absolute faith in Marty and believes that he survived. When Tac Nayn was attacking Earth, his forces could barely touch him or his big, giant machine of himself OR the Nayn Cyborgs. It was when Marty and the Nyan Rebellion came to Earth that he found hope again.
