Allan Heinberg (born June 29, 1967) is an American film screenwriter, television writer, producer, and comic book writer. Heinberg is the screenwriter of the 2017 film Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins. His television writing and producing credits include The Naked Truth, Party of Five, Sex and the City, Gilmore Girls, The O.C., Grey's Anatomy, Looking, and Scandal. Most recently, Heinberg developed, wrote, and ran ABC's The Catch, starring Mireille Enos and Peter Krause, and also developed the 2022 Netflix series on The Sandman. For Marvel Comics, Heinberg co-created and wrote Young Avengers and its sequel, Avengers: The Children’s Crusade, with co-creator/artist Jim Cheung. As part of this series, he co-created the Marvel characters Kate Bishop, Hulkling, Iron Lad, Patriot (Eli Bradley), Speed, and Wiccan. For DC Comics, Heinberg co-wrote JLA: Crisis of Conscience with Geoff Johns (art by Chris Batista) and relaunched Wonder Woman with artists Terry and Rachel Dodson. Unlike her blessed sister, Nubia was abducted and raised by Ares, the god of war. The girl was hidden from Aphrodite and the other gods; the stolen child, now called Nubia, was raised and trained by Mars in all forms of combat. Ares raised her far from Themyscira, surrounded by male figures, in a world of chaos and violence, training her from a young age to be his fiercest warrior. Since the moment she learned to walk, she was thrust into battle, quickly surpassing all her male peers. Ares treated her almost like an adopted daughter, preparing her to be his supreme champion in his war against the Amazons. As his only female apprentice, she quickly surpassed her male colleagues and even came to lead them. She was meticulously trained as a living weapon. Nubia becomes queen of Themyscira, but the new title also brings challenges. With the unexpected arrival of new Amazons, our hero is forced to reckon with her past and forge a new path forward for her sisters. Little does she know, a great evil grows beneath the island and it’s up to this former guardian of Doom’s Doorway to unite her tribe before paradise is lost forever.
