Alexander "Alex" Proyas (born 23 September 1963) is an Australian filmmaker. He is best known for directing the films The Crow (1994), Dark City (1998), I, Robot (2004), Knowing (2009), and Gods of Egypt (2016).
Doctor Nicodemus Horror and his daughter Evening, refugees from a parallel world known as the "Black Planet" that was overrun by an extradimensional species of parasites known as the Crim have settled in Pacific City, California.
Doc Horror now operates out of his underground sanctuary called the Tomb, joined by an eclectic group of societal outcasts who shun the light of day. Together they battle the criminal underworld and various supernatural threats which often rear up in nearby Pacific City.
