Raku Ichijo, a not-so-average high school student, is heir to a powerful crime family, the Shuei-gumi, who are engaged in a turf war with a rival family, Bee Hive. Raku aspires to date his crush Kosaki Onodera, but after his not-so-pleasant chance encounter with transfer student Chitoge Kirisaki, he discovers to his great dismay that the two rival families, one of them being his own, has brokered a truce of sorts with a ceasefire by marrying off their young heirs together, one of the two, aside from Raku, being the girl who transferred into his school and kneed him in his face, Chitoge!
