Vera enters witness protection under a new identity — Claire Hastings, a mediocre administrative assistant in a non-descript office in Midtown. Sarah, officially reassigned from the case, secretly maintains contact, driven by the need to understand who Cassandra really is and what she plans to do with the client list. Cassandra has disappeared into the city's infrastructure, using the leverage data to systematically acquire power across multiple industries: banking, politics, real estate, media. She is not using the leverage for blackmail — she is using it for something far more sophisticated: she is mapping human weakness as a technology. Every compromised judge, every embezzling executive, every sexual secret becomes a data point in a system that predicts behavior, manipulates decision-making, and exerts control at a scale that makes Vera's boutique leverage operation look like a child's game.
