It is believed there is Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) competing with Tick-Tock and Plip-Plop over which one of them claims Captain Hook as a meal. It could be that this shark is the beast believed to be a shark of the kind that killed some of the survivors of the U.S.S. Indianapolis CA-35. Ultimately, the so-called shark is actually a shark-shaped submarine that found its way to the waters of Neverland long ago looking for new territories and victims having gained a mind of its own. The shark plays into the Black Fairy's creation of nightmares around technology overcoming both man and nature alike (Man vs. Machine). That fear is embodied by the shark's cold expression.
